Very Interested!

I would be interested in running a tournament. I don't have any real "fighters" in my roster, so I would be happy to run it so that others could play. Although, I would ask for some help beforehand so that I could make something good. So if there's interest (which I think AWAS had gotten people excited before about something similar), I'd be happy to give it a go. :)

Cavum 101

Well, kinda. Anyways, not so much a tour y, but the Cavum does have regular pit fights and allows for mages to fight as well as just physical fighters. Usually anyone that wants to fight can, they sign up and fight the winner of the fight that's just taken place. I guess that's called a round robin?

Anywho!!! I thought that if anyone wanted to partake in such an event, all would be welcome sort of thing. :D Could have a catch of a small purse or something for winning, or lasting the longest. Don't worry, they've got healers on stand by. ;)

Of course if Setting feels that any of this info is inaccurate, feel free to correct what info I have wrong. Heh

Cavum fights

From what I can recall of the history of the Cavum fights and the general flavor of the establishment is that they had many different types of fight nights.

In the past some were a bit more gladiatorial (Ie only one leaves alive), but recent events seemed to have lead to less of those and more when the other fighter gets unconsciousness. But wouldn't be surprised if the occasional blood fight gets in (both parties agreeing to the matter of course.)

They would probably have a couple of amateur nights, where those not in the professional circuit could sign up to part take.

One style would be in a bracket tournament style fighting - ie people are paired off and the winner moves on to the next bracket and you do that until only one remains the winner.

Another one would be, they get a bunch of people signup and they just pair them off. Depending on the fighting style it could range from just one round fight - winner take all for that fight and then move onto the next pair until they cycle through everyone. This would likely be done in nights before bracket style fights as a warmup type thing.

Then there would be the free for all. Bunch of people sign up, and they all get to just go to town in the ring all at once. Party time.

In addition would be nights where it would be more open challenger style, a set fight is done, and then anyone can toss their hat in with the winner to see if they can take the prize.

Naturally there will be the big fight nights, which they show case those in the more professional circuits.

.

Could also do things like the gladiators did. Teams doing bits depicting old battles. Like the Battle of Habrin Bluff, the Grand Skirmish of the Forest Heart, the Invasion from Under, or the Last Stand in Hell. Kinda like the Romans probably did something similar to the Battle of Thermopylae.

Oh and guys, don't forget about the Kane Coliseum in the dead center of Beth Bow. Got another fighting venue that is bigger.

Kane Coliseum....

I totally didn't realize that there was fighting going on there... Though would that have continued after the take over of Ramsalon by SI?

Yeah, I remember there used to be a schedule of which nights were which. I do remember that there used to be a mage fight night too at the Cavum. There used to be a schedule of when they were doing the different fights at the Cavum, but that seems to have disappeared. :( Unless it's somewhere on the old site.

Yeah, totally still in use -

Yeah, totally still in use - it's probably gotten an upgrade to better support kabuki and noh plays as well. Kinda silly to invest that much into that structure and not have some sort of entertainment over there. ;) The cavum is more for the shady / possibly less-than-legal sort of fighting. The up close and personal kind. The coliseum is more for large festivals and the classic bread-and-a-show sort of gladitorial fights.
