Question about Chimaes Shop

So I had a couple questions in regards to Chimae in Ramsalon

1. During the events of the fire in Wayward Ho as described in the wiki on the invasion of SI, I am Rping that Chimae lost her house and has had to temporarily move to the Beth Bow.
2. She has been trying to raise funds to get a decent place of her own with a shop under it for her dresses to properly be stored, and will use the income from her unruled scene to go toward that new econ level.

So my question is, is this an RPable instance? I ask because having a shop would increase her sales and thus provide an economical boost for her. So what would I need to do? Do I need to make a scene purchasing it?

Ok, so running businesses is

Ok, so running businesses is actually one of the things on the system and settings's list of things to get worked out mathematically at some point and pinned down I think? B/c a lot of players like to build their own businesses and those can be major goals for them so we want to make sure the cost and rewards are set up correctly.

That said - there's basically two approaches we can take on this?

The slow way: Coordinating with one of our numbers people to play test some business rules. Historically the reward for a biz has been economy, a location, and hypothetically being able to employ other PCs. Now with the reputation system in there we might want to mix that up a bit. Such as instead of an econ boost the result being an option for an automatic monthly roll for income. It's kind of a really squishy bit of our system at the moment so wanting to know what rewards players want from running a shop would be good input - be that money, rep or what not.

The fast way: We could get you immediately set up by treating this just like any other recruitment session. Which would get you arranged to set up the shop using a relevant skill to add a boost to your economy score as per a normal recruitment session. Just instead of being hired by an employer - you're self employed.

Dealer's choice there - which would you prefer?

Jeeze

Decisions decisions. I think the first way sounds sweet, but ICly Chimae needs out of her place asap so that Karcer could move into it. So the fast way may be better. Burrr... If we did the slow way, could I backdate to a week from now, which is when she will likely move out? If so, let's do that. I like being a test dummy

Keeping in mind that the

Keeping in mind that the economy score includes living and there's a lot of cheap but new apartments built in the Beth Bow and in Shinkaton. Her economy is a 27, so around average. I'm pretty sure she could find a new place to live ICly easy - it might be a bit cramped for storing dresses but a 27 is better than 25, so probably has a little extra storage space?

I'm not against doign a backdate for RP purposes from an IC point of view - but that's just me, so that's something Setting would need to weigh in on if they object. And we can just figure the numbers out next. :)

The slow way will probably take a while. Haven't even had a chance to like sit and even think on anything. Like more then a week in all of this, way more then a week, as there are a few things to consider in general.

Since we no longer use the tree method to organize chat rooms, private rooms are not tied to a single place. So a characters private room can cover multiple locations in one space as the player needs. So there is ample room in the 'moving' about in that while the logistics are worked out.
So worst case Chimae can technically have her shop wherever, but not receive any perks from it (unless of course it is treated like a recruitment session for a base econ bump, which may be something to consider as part of the perks anyways if the character has received no other employment econ boosts.)

Business skills - need to find a way to help have an effect. One idea was making a business work like a companion - then the question becomes how is its stats reflected and how do they work.

Benefits in having a business - what does it provide and how does it provide it.

The goals behind the business. This is actually required now as part of the 'what happens when a player leaves behind/abandons a project' We need to know those goals so it can keep going when the player is no longer around. Especially if other player characters are employed by such things.

How can a player improve their character business, etc, and what does that give them.

Different levels for different kinds of play - no everyone is going to want the same stuff, so we need something dynamic enough to cover it, but offer varying rewards without making it feel required to do all the aspects of the business rp.

(so many typos, sorry)
