Slavery and Trafficking

Slavery and Trafficking

Slavery is a condition wherein one individual owns another individual as a kind of property and controls them. Though depending on regional politics and culture there are some variations.

There are no large scale slaving operations that exists in the world.

No species is specifically targeted for slavery on a large scale, and it is not an intrinsic core to any species' background.

Most slaving operations are local to an area and tend to come to be due to a particular regional demand or as an aftermath of regional conflicts.

Trafficking is when a person is forcefully removed from their home region with the intent to sell that person to another group for one reason or another.
The most common reason for trafficking a person is often to use them to harvest parts of their body. There are regions of the world where certain parts of a species may be considered a delicacy, or have the belief that ingesting certain parts will grant them some kind of benefit. There is also some demand for body parts for those that practice magic and apothecaries, as those parts could be seen as vital components for some rituals, Potions or other uses in the field. Of course there is also those seeking access for bodies to advance science and knowledge in general.
Trafficking can also be used to sell someone into slavery or other forced labor/entertainment should the market and opportunity be there.

To determine the worth of someone that is enslaved or being trafficked follow the same rules as companions.

To determine the value of someone's parts use the same rules as items that affect crafting or item worth if the part is to give a flat bonus.
